Feverworm Review
Last month I made a small order from Feverworm. I'd seen their work pop up a few times in the Artist Alley and Draw threads on /cgl/ and was absolutely smitten! I love the coloring style and eye sparkles. As soon as I saw the phone straps of Red and Alice, I immediately bought them. Impulsive, sure, since I haven't collected phone charms in a long time, but no regrets! NONE!
I was surprised to see more included in the package besides a business card. There's even a cute little doodle on the printout.

Monster Hat Emporium Review
I'm trying to be more involved in the Artist Alley community, getting and giving feedback, things like that. As I became a regular, something really caught my attention. Terrifying monsters. As scarves. Hairy, fangy, and with a bunch of eyes. Monster Hat Emporium is a creator of creatures both cute and creepy. While her bug-monster scarves weird me out (their faces are too spider like for me), the rest of Grue's stuff was just the right amount of spooky for me! I asked if she'd want to do a swap and after a few weeks of me being forgetful, finally got things rolling.

Mint Kismet Commodities Review
Last week I purchased from Mint Kismet Commodities on Storenvy. MKC use to be a blog run shop and recently made the move to Storenvy. The shop is run by a long distance couple, one in the US and the other in Japan. They usually stock cute things like Swimmer, Rilakkuma/San-X, and alpaca things.
A while back when they were starting up, I won a giveaway for a $5 voucher. I've been saving it forever because whenever they stock something I like, someone else beats me to it! I finally decided to use it to buy cute cat stationery and a Swimmer notepad. I pretty much just bought pretty paper.
Since these aren't crafty/homemade items, I'll review her service as a seller. I first sent her an email on the 13th to ask about how to handle the voucher since the shop moved [and details about the Swimmer notepad] and she replied within the day. I'd give a more accurate time, but my email says the reply came an hour before I sent the message. I'm guess time zone differences or something. After that, I placed the order and left a note about the voucher. I was refunded the $5. The order was shipped on the 16th and arrived the 19th [or the 18th, but I didn't check the mail that day]. Over all I'd say she has excellent communication [the shop use to be on blogspot after all, which means lots of messaging]. And you can see that the package came wrapped up in a bag and in a bubble mailer. I would definitely purchase from her again.

Happy Packs
For the first time, Chasing the Frill will be offering Happy/Lucky/Mystery Packs! For how long, I'm not sure yet. Maybe all the time. Who knows.
Happy Pack A is made up of four 2-way bows + a mystery item.
Happy Pack B is completely random and could contain anything. It's more in the spirit of the whole surprise pack mystery.
Of course, you're welcome to suggest the kinds of things that you want in the order and I'll take it into consideration. I'll likely give you what you want though, especially if you've got a very specific wardrobe. Of course, if your request isn't exactly possible, then I'll do my best to match it.

Luna Bowtique Review
I recently bought a pair of bows from Luna Bowtique. It was a "spend X amount, get a bow free" sort of thing. I do like getting things free, so I kind of jumped on it impulsively. So impulsively actually that I didn't even check out the whole store! I'm still new to Storenvy, so I didn't notice the categories at the top...
I'm still happy with the two bows I did pick though!

Noh-Face, Soot Sprites, Totoro! What?
This actually came up because my camera sucks and the flash goes crazy sometimes...
And this was taken at 2PM. Looks cool though, right?
Like the title says, all those things are in this post! I'm going to a one-day event called Giga-Con 2012 to sell, hangout, and do some crappy closet cosplay. I think it'll be fun. After Anime Conji, I decided I wanted to try to appeal more to the crowd since I didn't really make a lot of anime-related stuff last time. I'm not really up to date with what's popular, but everyone loves Studio Ghibli! Or at least, everyone loves Miyazaki, can't go wrong with him.

Classic/Mori Prize Progress
Finally finished up the classic prize pack for the June Giveaway. Instead of the usual lace or even adding a ruffle to the bow, I made my own. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what kind to make, like flowers or cherries, but I couldn't seem to get it down or it was just to big. Instead I altered a design I saw and simplified it, making it smaller and easier to manage.

Asian Cultural Festival
We had an awesome banner!
I attended Asian Cultural Festival on Saturday, representing lolita fashion in general and San Diego Lolitas, my local group. I didn't really have much details on what was going on, I just knew we had a booth and table space...so I kind of went into it a little blindly. But I was pleasantly surprised to see that we had a legit booth and banner! I haven't been regularly attending meet ups, so I didn't know we were an organization, haha. It's pretty damn cool though.
The water dragon mascot is so cute!

Anime Conji
First, sorry for the low quality picture! I forgot my camera on day 1, so the photo above and below were taken with my 3DS.

Collars + Patterns
This all started with a hat that I knitted myself sometime ago, maybe 3 years ago. It was a red gradient yarn that was leftover from scarf+hat set I had made for a friend. I wanted to make a long pointed hat, inspired by Link of the Legend of Zelda game series. Of course, being long and pointed was the only inspiration I took, it was red after all and certainly didn't resemble his in any way, even in the red tunic. But I didn't have enough yarn, so it ended up pretty short and instead it became my Pikmin hat. Not that it resembled the red Pikmin much, it just happened to have that sort of rounded shape that came to a point. I then added a leaf to seal the deal.
pre-leaf
Wanting to try again, I bought a brown gradient instead since it suited my taste more. I started on it, and eventually put it aside to finish later. It never got finished and I'd lost interest in knitting as time progressed. As I said before, I'm not a knitter! All I managed to whip up was the ribbed brim and a few rows of the hat. I recently unraveled it to make something else, crocheted of course, and turned it into a large slouchy cap/beret. It's a bit too big though, so I don't know if I'm going to unravel that and make another hat again, but for now, I like it.

Tiny.Angry.Crafter
I recently won a giveaway hosted by a fellow crafter in San Diego, Carla of Tiny.Angry.Crafter. She's someone I've met a few times for different occasions, such as doll meet ups and conventions, and is a lovely person to be around.
Her crafts are also fantastic.
I received two items, an octopus and a pair of wristwarmers, both in this foresty-moss green [which is great, because green is my favorite color].
The octopus! Super cute, and will probably live on my cellphone after I attach a strap and stuff to it. It can be best friends with my Chickpea Mameshiba that also lives on my phone. I especially love how it's tendrils curl. Makes it fun to hold in my hand since they wrap around my fingers and kind of "hold on." Or maybe I'm just too amused by it.
Also included were a couple business cards, two with pictures and two standard. I really like the octopus+chopsticks picture and the overall design of the standard card, so I'll probably keep those and give away the other two. To whom I'm not entirely sure yet. Probably people who appreciate Harry Potter and want a pair of wristwarmers in house colors.
Speaking of wristwarmers, these are the pair I received. Very comfy and warm, yet sadly the weather here hasn't been that cold! It's been warm during the day, and cold at night, but I'm usually indoors where things are warm enough. But I think it'll probably be colder when spring rolls around, so maybe I'll get a chance to wear them out then. I'd really like another pair in a brown/beige/offwhite/whatever color...maybe with cable-stitching, but the ribbing is nice too. Even though I know the very basics of knitting, I am not a knitter! So it's cool to have something knit by someone who knows what she's doing.
Over all, even though I didn't buy these things, I'd totally purchase from her in the future. ;3

Moo+Etsy Cards
Moo's got this collaboration thing with Etsy, so I was able to get 50 free cards, just had to pay shipping. I think it's a pretty good deal since using there was no charge in using photos. Makes for some pretty rad business cards since they display the types of things being made. I just wish I could pick how many of each card I would get! I would've rather had an extra of any other card than the Bunka Doll...
I put the sticker on the back of my phone. ;3
They're awesome and sturdy, way better than the Vistaprint cards!

In Between Stuff
Since scarf work can get kind of monotonous [the actual scarf part], I made other things in between to keep things interesting for myself. Although, I make a lot of bows, so I don't really know how interesting that is, but it's quick satisfaction of finishing. But I am -almost- done with the scarf. Just another few more inches, then assembly!
Mini aqua bow bobby pin set. I think I'll buy actual bobby pin settings eventually...

Open Scarf Commission Slot #2
Since I'm finished with the other scarf, I'm free to take on more commissions for bunny scarves. Assuming the wanted scarf is made with yarn I already have, it would take about 2-3 weeks to finish.
If you're interested in owning your own bunny scarf, please comment here, email me at chasingthefrill@gmail.com, or send me a convo on Etsy.
