Oooh baby, it sure has been a while hasn't it. About 6 months. My goodness, what happened...?
It's probably because I'm not a very good writer, eheh. But at least I've been making things, so I haven't given up crafting! I got some pretty pastel yarn, learned how to make puffstitch flowers AND doing resin things.
Resin has completely taken over my life. I don't crochet as often (i still do though), but I guess I'm in a bit of a resin craze...
Keep reading if you want to see more, because I've got A LOT to show!

KiguKids and Machine Sewing
Yes. Machine Sewing, something I don't often do. Now, normally the KiguKids are completely done by hand, needle and thread, but I was feeling lazy. I thought, if it could save time and help me make more, maybe I could just machine sew them. Zigzag stitch the edges to make it similar to the regular dolls, that'll be good enough, right? WRONG. So wrong. Keep reading and I'll tell you about it.

Feverworm Review
Last month I made a small order from Feverworm. I'd seen their work pop up a few times in the Artist Alley and Draw threads on /cgl/ and was absolutely smitten! I love the coloring style and eye sparkles. As soon as I saw the phone straps of Red and Alice, I immediately bought them. Impulsive, sure, since I haven't collected phone charms in a long time, but no regrets! NONE!
I was surprised to see more included in the package besides a business card. There's even a cute little doodle on the printout.

Happy Birthday to my friend Sarah~!
We had a little party for her this past saturday that was Sailor Moon themed, so I prettied up the packaging for the kitty pins appropriately.

krkr
Sorry for the lack of posts! I haven't really been crafting much. I always just want to take a nap after I get home from school, so I don't have much motivation to make things. Anyway, I drew this a few weeks back for someone, it's krkr from gdgd fairies. trying to use watercolors more often.

Painting I and Watercolor I
Painting! Yeah! Sorry for another non-craft post. The next one for sure will have some crochet stuff in it. Especially since I just made something last night. Anyway...
Been working on still life stuff for my Painting I class. The one above is actually my third painting, but it looks the best so I made it the first picture. It's a complementary color painting, so I was only allowed to use the mixtures of two colors. I picked yellow [cad yellow medium] and purple [prism violet] because I didn't want to have to deal with blue and mixing up an orange. Mixed 7 steps of yellow to violet, and didn't use the pure color of either. They're both slightly dulled with a bit of the other color mixed in.

Sorry things have been slow here. Being up and out to school early has me feeling tired lately. Haven't really been in the mood to crochet. I started making earmuffs last Thursday because the weather had been cold and rainy, but it was suddenly warm since Friday. Kinda just set the project aside, since all I really did make was the band. I doubt the weather will be getting cold enough to need earmuffs anytime soon. At least not until April. I haven't been really doing much crafting either, aside from glitter-gluing a plastic horse. I guess with painting and watercolor classes, I've been doing more 2D things. After spending too much on art supplies, I ended up getting more sketchbooks than I needed because of a sale [no point in passing it up, it was a really good one].
Watercolor's got me thinking about Sakizou's artwork and how much I love it [just looking at my meowboard you'd know]. My drawings lately have been trying to mimic her style, while of course still being my own. Mostly the cute and fluffy clothing and coloring. I'm a terrible painter, but maybe I'll be able to work watercolor into my stuff.

Blindman's Buff
I wrote a visual analysis paper on Jean-Honore Fragonard's Blindman's Buff for my art history class and had to include either a research paper or a creative project to accompany the analysis. Of course, anything to avoid writing another paper. Instead, I chose the simplest thing I could think of, just recreate the painting in another medium.
Watch the day progress as I work on the project.

Kawaii to Kowai
To get out of doing a Flash animation for my artist and computer class, I said I knew how to use it [which i sort of do...]. In place of Flash, I had to learn Dreamweaver, which I still barely know how to use. I learned enough to put a 4 page website together though! If I actually had it available online I'd link it. I can however share the artwork I drew up for it!
The teacup above was really just a last minute picture I put together since I didn't know what to put on the main page and needed to fill space...That's why it's so sloppy and generic.

Painting Rift
A screenshot from the online game RIFT. I used it as a base for a small painting. I couldn't find my tiny canvases, so I resorted to hot gluing three rectangles of fabric onto three postcard type fliers I got at previous conventions. A little tacky from the back, but it served its purpose!
I wish I had smaller brushes when I started working. Best I had was a size 0, which was a little messed up too. Used simple craft acrylic paint, the kind found in Wal*Mart in the small bottles. Again, nothing special, but got the job done.

Petticoat Parade part four
Highschool Creme! Wearing some kind of either gathered maxi-length dress or a short fringed dress. I haven't decided. Either way, she's definitely the talk of the halls, and not exactly in a good way. I've personally never experienced anything like this growing up, but I do hear talk about other students staring and stuff from friends who attended different schools. In this case, Creme went to one of those schools.

Petticoat Parade part three
The two pages from inbetween the two from last post! These two were also very similar because the subject was about Creme in her dream dress [Angelic Pretty's Twinkle Mermaid] and having a moment where she felt magical.

Petticoat Parade part two
Part two of Petticoat Parade, including another two pages, but this time not quite in order. Two pages have a similar look to them, with a character giving an example of something, hence the opposing placement of them with their respective subject behind them. There are two pages between them.

Petticoat Parade part one
Character design and style. Creme on the left, Poppy on the right.
I wrote a script in my Creative Writing class titled Petticoat Parade. It's very short [2 pages], about two lolitas, one a seasoned veteran [Creme - inspired the lovely Christine] and the other new [Poppy]. Poppy returns after her first day out in full lolita fashion. She gets made fun of and says she's given up. Creme steps in and tells her about how wonderful it is to feel pretty after getting past the initial negative reactions. She talks about her dream dress, wearing vintage in school, and how it doesn't matter what people think.

Autumn Craft Swap
I got my craft exchange package last week actually, but I wanted to wait until the official photo post was up on EGL. But first, have a bit of my art project from two-three weeks ago.
14x16 inches I think? I don't know, I'm too lazy to check the size. We were supposed to make use of space and texture [visual, simulated, and actual texture. I used a bunch of fabric I wasn't doing much with. And a magazine cut out for the water because I almost forgot about the simulated texture. The deer and the sky is my favorite though, the sky is painted and has a pink tulle overlay. I was very pleased with this project <3
Now then, onto what I received in the swap!

Mascot Cameo
Right now he's just wax, but eventually he'll be in bronze. I'm really excited, since I volunteered my piece to be the example for gating [setting up the wax to make a mold], so I'll likely be the first to finish the project this way x3
EEE!
...
He needs a name.
