AC Prep: Melty Bows

Diving into new things. Sort of, they're still bows, but at least they're not crochet. Either way, it's nice to be working on something different.

My "work station." I'm pretty much out of the mint ribbon, no surprise there since it was cheap and came with ric-rac. I'm surprised I still have black and brown ribbon actually, since I've had both for about a year now. I guess I just don't use ribbon as much, but I'm think I definitely should now.

Been a while since my last update... I haven't been doing much, bad me! I really need to get stuff done...

Embroidered a mushroom onto a bow made from the left overs of hemmed jeans. It's kinda random. I need a better headband to slide it onto.

Tea with Charlotte

Other Charlotte. I reached into my marker bag, thinking I had grabbed blue...I ended up grabbing the green next to it @_@ So her coloring isn't accurate. And it wasn't until I covered it that I realized I forgot the spots! Oh well...

Fan-Straps

I totally forgot that I had phone straps that needed to be used. Lots of them. I started out making phone straps, so I guess it's time to get back into it! Of course, the first time was with mini bows, but really I make enough bows as it is, I need more fandom related things for Anime Conji. A quick pick that's attention grabbing and cheap. That sort of thing is important when it comes to Artist Alley tables, right?

Top of my unwritten list of fandoms is Puella Magi Madoka Magica and at the top of the character list is Kyuubey. I really hate Kyuubey to be honest. I didn't like him the moment I saw him. His eyes are just so...EVIL. But you can't have a Magical Girl series without the token cat/rabbit creature. Eyes aside, the design is interesting and different. I mean, it does have cat AND rabbit ears!

Silly Cat Dress Progress

Started on the cat dress Wednesday and nearly finished it. It was a long process of trying to remember how to do things as well as make things work since I didn't use a pattern or anything. It's super boxy because of that and I don't mind at all.

Pinning things down to get an idea of how I want it to look.

Silly Cat Dress

I recently got this silly cat printed fabric! It's ridiculous, tacky, kitschy, and super awesome. I'm going to make a dress out of it, similar to this Metamorphose dress:

It won't be exact since I don't know or trust my ability to make pintucks right now. But it's going to have a black square yoke and puffy cuffed sleeves. I don't think the bottom will be two tiered, but I might give it ruffles, maybe. Probably no ruffles on the yoke either, but I've already got some lace and ribbon for it. Hopefully it'll look okay.

My goal is to get this done today! Wish me luck.

Cherry Choco Bunny

An amigurumi cupcake inspired this bunny. It had "chocolate sauce" and a cherry, but I didn't have much cupcake material, or rather, I didn't want to make one since I could be using my colors for other things. White the experimental yarn, and this time it went into a bunny! A difficult bunny at that. It gave me a lot of trouble.

Kodama & Pattern

I made a new Kodama amigurumi! It's about the size of my hand and it's head doesn't rattle like the old one. I actually used felt this time for it's face too. So much better than the old one. Head shape has also improved. It's very...bobbly. He's good at headbanging.

I also kept up with making a pattern! So it's free to use for whatever, just credit me for the pattern, that's all I want. And maybe pictures...I mean, it'd be nice to see that people are satisfied with the pattern. Now, it's my first time actually writing one for other people to use, I hope it makes sense!
